Patty Devery

Patty Devery Headshot

Patty Devery attended Illinois Wesleyan University where she received a Bachelor of Music Education with a Vocal Concentration. While there, she participated in the grand tradition of college a cappella, co-founding the female ensemble A Touch of Class. Also at IWU, she was a member of Quickies Sketch Comedy Troupe and performed in numerous student productions. After graduating, she ran away to live in Madrid, Spain, before moving to New York City. While in New York, Patty has studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and performed with Ha! Comedy Club’s in-house improv group. When not making magic with Dumpster Tequila, she performs improv with MacGuffin, blogs about pop culture on her blog The Definition of Pop Culture, and corrects people's grammar.

 
Maggie Lehrman

Maggie Lehrman headshot

Maggie Lehrman was born in Lubbock, Texas and grew up outside of Chicago, where she took her first improv class at IO. Since moving to New York, she's studied improv at UCB and written plays for several short play festivals. She co-founded the 24 Hour Play Festival at Harvard, where she also got a B.A. in English. When she's not onstage with Dumpster Tequila, she edits children's books. She lives in Brooklyn.

 
Kerry McGuire

Kerry McGuire headshot

Kerry McGuire lives in Brooklyn, New York and is a certified actor, with a degree from New York University in Experimental Theatre. Before that, she learned a huge amount about acting and life in general from Dr. Tawnya Pettiford Wates, Phd. at Seattle Central Community College. She works in and around the theatre during the day, and has been doing improv for a while. She studies at the UCB and has had such teachers as Neal Casey, Silvija Ozols, Doug Moe, Michael Delaney and Eliza Skinner.

 
Jason Saenz

Jason Saenz headshot

Jason Saenz hails from Washington, D.C where he performed with Washington Improv Theater house teams Jackie, Season Six and iMusical: The Improvised Musical. He also co-created the DC comedy blog www.DCComedy4Now.com.

Currently living in New York, Jason continues his improv escapades studying at the UCB Theater and performing with fellow DC'ers THE LANDLORDS and the freestyle rap group, NORTH COAST. He has been featured at the Chicago Improv Festival, Baltimore Improv Festival, Philadelphia Improv Festival, Charleston Improv Festival, DC Comedy Festival, DSIF and The Del Close Marathon.

Jason also is a stand up comedian that has performed at Gotham Comedy Club, Comic Strip and Carolines and is a freelance writer for GamesAbyss.com.

Brian Waters

Brian Waters headshot

Brian Waters is an actor who came to New York in the autumn of 2005. He has performed off Broadway and off-off Broadway, most recently in Dario D'Ambrosi's four-character experimental version of Romeo & Juliet at La Mama, as Mark in A Year In The Life..., and Marc Antony/Macbeth in Bardolatry. He began studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade in 2006. Brian graduated from Truman State University, where he obtained degrees in both Theatre AND French, because why have only one worthless degree when you can have two? When not performing with Dumpster Tequila he can be seen dreaming of quitting his day job, torturing himself with triathlons and acting in general. Evan Watkins

Evan Watkins headshot

Evan Watkins came to NYC via Salem, OR, where his love of improv and sketch comedy developed in middle school and hasn’t slowed down since. He has a BS in Communications(useful I know) from Oregon State University, where he lent his amazing vocal talents to the college radio station for three years, he also informed tens of people as an anchor on KBVR TV news. He moved to NYC in the fall of 2006 and has studied at UCB since 2008 with the amazing talents of Betsy Stover, Anthony Atamanuik, Charlie Todd, Will Hines, Eliza Skinner, Jeff Hiller, Ari Voukydis, Becky Drysdale, Leslie Meisel and Mike Still. He has performed at both the UCB Theatre NY and the LA Fringe Festival with the show 8-Bits: A Sketch Show About Video Games. He also does freelance PR and Promotional work for comedy shows throughout NYC. When not performing with Dumpster Tequila you can find him selling pashminas on the corner of 44th and 9th and watching the complete seasons of Full House. Oh and he blogs about theater sometimes too.

Ben Whitehouse - Coach

Ben Whitehouse headshot

Ben Whitehouse has been studying and performing improv since 2001 and has been obsessed with it ever since. He is the founder and head writer of Improvoker a journal of long-form improvisation.

He has studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre with Shannon O’Neil, Neil Casey, Joe Wengert, Chris Gethard, Anthony King, Billy Merritt, Christina Gausas, Eliza Skinner, Michael Delaney, Rob Riggle, and Matt Walsh. In addition, he has also studied with Armando Diaz of Magnet, Blaine Swen of Improvised Shakespeare, Susan Kaessinger, and Jay Rhoderick of Centralia.

Ben is currently in love with coaching improvisation and regularly coaches such groups as Dumpster Tequila and Veal.

Joel Esher - Musical Director

Joel Esher headshot

Joel Esher is originally from Boston and comes to New York via Chicago. In addition to MD'ing DT, he has played piano for various musical improv groups throughout the city including Baby Wants Candy, I Eat Pandas, and the monthly Musical Kaleidescope hosted at The Creek in LIC. In Chicago, Joel played for ComedySportz, pH, and Hogwash at iO. He also music directed a Best of Second City show on Norwegian Cruise Lines, directed by Mick Napier. When he's not acting like a goofball with grownups, he's acting like a goofball with kids as a singer/guitarist for Little Maestros and pianist for the Striking Viking Story Pirates.
